Meet the team
Jared
DIRECTOR
DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
After graduating Film & Screen Media Production at Griffith University in 2009, I started my creative career as a freelance Director of Photography.
In 2017, I co-founded Ballast Films with a focus on creating meaningful brand and story-focussed films to service clients and agencies through all stages of production. Collaboration, problem-solving and delivering to a high standard is my jam.
I love being a dad and husband to Kyrin, roasting specialty coffee, a good west coast IPA, the movie Hot Rod and carving the streets on my OneWheel.

Since 2015, I’ve been exploring my unique eye through direction, editing and documentary photography - drawing on the beauty of unfolding human elements/authenticity and emotion out and intentionally connecting this to the receiving audience.
Collaboration, empathy and observation are critical tools I use for storytelling bringing the vision and ideas to life in post.
I love being a wife and mum, and enjoy a good cuppa, heading to the beach and mountains.
